It’s that time in the semester to check in. What you’ve done well. What you’ve missed or left for another day. What still needs to be done by the end of your course.
Am I up-to-date? Do I know what I have due for this class? Do I know what I have due for every class? Have I started on everything? Is there anything that I’m unclear about? Is there anything stressing me?

Check in on your:
- Cover letter
- LinkedIn profile
- WordPress site
- Social media platforms
- Samples of work (eg writing, radio demo etc)

What can be improved?

Next week – job interviews
We’re doing mock job interviews next week. It’s a fun and very helpful class, promise. (I know some of you might find the idea of it intimidating. It’s not once we get started.) We’ll workshop answers on common interview questions so you never again have a mind blank when asked “what are your weaknesses?”
IMPORTANT: Remember to dress appropriately ie business attire.
Make a plan for the rest of the semester
Particularly looking at your Work Practice class, how will you get your assessments complete? Have you found a work experience opportunity? Have you applied for enough?
Have you done your Career Advice report? Contacted enough media professionals? Started to build your networks?
What’s one thing that you can do right now that will get you closer to the next step in your career?
