Week 13 (20/5): Completing your simple video

Today we’ll finish off the simple videos we made, or if you have finished yours already, make another one to fit upcoming Friday news conference and radio show themes.

Go back and look over this post about planning your video, and this post about producing it. Then review the post about editing.

Music, actuality and SFX

You may decide you need some sound to make your story really engaging. As with photos or other illustrations, copyright applies. You can’t just grab a bit of your favourite tune and use that.

There is some info about finding music and other sounds here:

You can also record your own actuality (sounds from location, e.g. water being poured from the kettle into a cup).

  1. Complete your simple video so it is ready for assessment (assessment brief is here).
  2. If you have already completed your video, make another video or a voice break that fits the upcoming news conference and radio show themes: Space, Reconciliation, or Food. One rule: you MUST add music or other sound effects to whatever you decide to make.
