Embedding Getty Images in your WordPress

It’s no secret that I love Beyonce.

But how can I legally use photos of her in my site?

STOP – wait a minute!

If you’re not sure why you can’t Google Image Search “Beyonce” and right-click save, READ THIS FIRST.

Okay, I get that copyright is important!

Getty has a bank of images that you can use, so long as:

  • It’s not used in advertising
  • It’s not used for a magazine or book cover
  • It’s embedded and properly attributed.

How do I that?

STEP 1: Go to Getty Images. Use the search to find the photo you want to use.

STEP 2: Find the embed code at the bottom of the photo.
(If there is no embed code, you need to find a different photo.)

STEP 3: Copy the embed code (select standard code, Ctrl-C)

STEP 4: In your WordPress post, add a new block “Custom HTML”

STEP 5: Paste the embed code (Ctrl-V)

STEP 6: Publish your post and enjoy basking in the sunshine that is Beyonce!
