Week 2 (15/2 PM): Audience

This afternoon we’re going to simulate a content meeting and come up with ideas for a radio show.

It maybe that you’re hosting, or producing content to submit.

First we’ve got to know who we’re talking to: the audience. Radio stations often come up with a “typical” listener character.

A rock/sport station such as Triple M may use “Baz the Builder”.

Hope 1032 imagines “Betty from Blacktown”.

Let’s start by profiling the TAFE radio audience.

Write a detailed report that helps you understand the following:

      • audience demographics (age, socioeconomic status, education, occupation, culture)
      • listening patterns
      • personal interest considerations, etc.
